Colour that earns a second look.

Copper Glacier is a precision colour and cut salon where every appointment starts with a real conversation, not a mood board scroll. Fiona Caldwell and the team work slowly, on purpose.

What sun, salt, and chlorine do to colour-treated hair

Every summer we see the same pattern: clients come in after a holiday with colour that has shifted in ways they did not expect. The brassiness, the dullness, the unexpected warmth at the mid-length. Most of it is predictable once you understand what is happening at the level of the hair shaft.

Balayage vs highlights: what actually changes

Colour correction: what to expect before you book

Colour correction is the service we get the most enquiries about, and the one where expectations most often need to be managed carefully. Not because the results are bad, but because the gap between what a client hopes for and what is safely achievable in one session is often significant. The person behind

Fiona Caldwell

Fiona Caldwell

Founder, Established since 2017

Fiona Caldwell trained at the Vidal Sassoon Academy in London before spending four years as a senior colourist at a well-regarded salon in London. She moved back to Tokyo in 2016 and opened Copper Glacier the following spring, drawn by the idea of building a slower, more considered practice than the high-volume city floor she'd come from. She holds advanced certifications in Balayage and Olaplex bond-building treatments, and she still takes every new client consultation herself. Outside the salon, she grows dahlias and is quietly obsessed with the chemistry of hair pigment.
